Ground Water Guardian

The City of Chippewa Falls has been involved in the Groundwater Guardian program since 1996. The Groundwater Guardian is a program of The Groundwater Foundation. The Groundwater Guardian’s activities address the community’s groundwater protection by education and awareness, pollution prevention, public policy, conservation and best management practice.

Some of the Groundwater Guardian activities include a Water Festival, Storm drain painting/marking, distributing informational brochures, Monitoring Well observation, attending the Conservation Days for area 5th graders at the state parks. Volunteers for projects have been community members, Girl Scout Troops, high school and college students.

• We want our children, as we want ourselves, to be stewards of the water.
• We recognize to build such a nation, we must be the change we seek. That change demands dedication, hard work and courage.
• We must foster clean drinking water for all, indoor plumbing for all, watershed stewardship, wellhead protection, water conservation and sustainability.
• We dedicate ourselves to working with our fellow human beings to build a Groundwater Guardian Nation.
