Recycling
The City of Chippewa Falls has assigned the exclusive single contract for curbside household recycling collection to Boxx Sanitation effective January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2025.
On or about November 1, 2021, GFL Environmental announced the acquisition of Boxx Sanitation. Residents in the City of Chippewa Falls will continue with the same recycling routes, carts, trucks, and drivers.
Residents may request a recycling cart by calling GFL Environmental at 715-669-3868.
Pick up dates have not changed. Go to Route Information for your collection date. Maps are also available at City Hall in the Clerk's office
The City of Chippewa Falls promotes recycling by providing curbside pickup for residents in the City.
The purpose of this contract is for the hauler to provide the collection and transferring of recyclables collected from single family homes, 2-4 unit residential dwellings and mobile home parks in the City of Chippewa Falls.
On October 5, 2010, the Chippewa Falls Common Council approved charging residents for recycling services directly on their utility bill. Wisconsin Statute 287 mandates that communities over 5,000 provide curbside recycling services.
Recycling charges cover the cost of providing curbside recycling services to single family to four-plex homes. Charges for tri-plex and four-plex homes are billed directly to the property owner unless the property is individually metered (effective 8/1/12 approved at 6/19/12 council meeting).
