JOIN CHIPPEWA FALLS FIRE AND EMS DEPARTMENT
Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) will be facilitating the application process for the City of Chippewa Falls, as well as for other fire departments. This recruitment will be used to establish a candidate pool list for use in filling future vacancies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful applicants must possess a current State of WI Firefighter II certification or equivalent and a current National or State of Wisconsin EMT-Paramedic license at time of ability testing (or able to acquire within 12 months). Documentation of certifications must be provided when application is submitted to CVTC. Additionally, applicants must be U.S. citizens, have a valid, unrestricted driver's license, and a high school diploma or GED and must be at least 18 years of age. Medical, vision, and hearing requirements shall be in accordance with NFPA standards 1582. Applicants are subject to post offer/pre-employment screening, exam and background check.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to EMS (Emergency Medical Services), firefighting, and rescue operations.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Candidates will be required to pass the International Association of Fire Fighters Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) administered at CVTC in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. All candidates will be required to travel to CVTC in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to complete the CPAT and corresponding written test (in person). Each fire department will receive your written exam scores after you successfully complete the CPAT. It is each department’s choice to share (or not to share) this information with candidates
