Dance Licenses
Public dancing, exhibitions, singing, live music or other entertainment requires a license in the City (with the exception of student organizations).
The classes of licenses are as follows:
Class "A" Dance License.
- Entertainment or exhibitions consisting of music, dancing, singing, floor shows and cabaret performances upon the licensed premises.
Class "B" Dance License.
- Allows all of the activities permitted under a Class "A" Dance License, except that the holder of a Class "B" Dance License shall not permit any performances on such premises by professional entertainers but live music is permissible.
Class "C" Dance License. (Juke Box)
- Entitles the holder to engage in all of the activities permitted under a Class "B" Dance License, except that the holder of a Class "C" Dance License shall be restricted to recorded music only.
Class "D" Dance License. (Occasional Dance-Excepting Nonprofit Organizations)
- Entitles the holder to engage in all of the activities permitted under the Class "B" Dance License but issued singly and not to exceed two days (12 hours) in succession.
Class "E" Dance License. (Occasional Dance - Nonprofit Organization Only).
- Entitles the holder to engage in all of the activities permitted under a Class "B" Dance license. Restricted to only religious, charitable, fraternal, benevolent, educational, civic and other nonprofit organizations. This license is issued singly and only for a single date.
Live Music License.
- Entitles the holder to have live music for the listening enjoyment of patrons, but no dancing by patrons or performers is allowed.
Annual dance/music licenses expire June 30th of each year.
