Accounting/Payroll Specialist
Finance and Administration Department
The City of Chippewa Falls (Pop. 14,405) is accepting applications for the position of Accounting/Payroll Specialist. Responsibilities include payroll processing; payroll reporting; balance sheet and account reconciliation; accounts payable/receivable; tax collection; special assessment accounting; spreadsheet preparation for various funds for budget and year-end projections; assisting with annual audits; benefits administration; ability to provide direction to team members; and various other clerical duties. Qualifications include an Associate Degree with a major in Accounting, Business, Finance, Human Resources or related field and at least four years experience in a similar responsible position or equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualified candidate must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Products and their application to accounting and finance; be self-motivated with excellent written and oral communication skills; have good knowledge of the principles and practices of finance and payroll; possess strong analytical ability, customer service, and data collection skills; and have the ability to work independently in a busy office environment. Wage is $25.86-$27.90 per hour DOQ.
